Gary Jay "G.J." Stone, Jr. was born Feb. 3, 1975 and passed away Oct. 20, 2015.

He grew up in Troy, Michigan and from an early age he had a passion for snow and the outdoors. Winter weekends were spent skiing with his best friend, his dad. He was an accomplished Olympic-hopeful mogul skier.

G.J. moved west to Utah at the age of 19 in search of legendary powder. He began his career as a ski patroler 18 years ago. In that time he filled many roles: rookie, lead patroler, training supervisor, level A dog handler, snow safety specialist, patrol manager/assistant patrol director and finally professional patrol director/senior patrol manager at Park City Resort at Canyons Village.

He married the love of his life, Teresa Sanders, in 2000. This year marked their 15-year anniversary. He was a devoted husband and father.

His passion for skiing, biking and the outdoors will live on through the legacy he left behind. His friendship, sense of humor and extraordinary sarcasm will be greatly missed, especially by his loyal avalanche dog, Voodoo.
